Graves in the Wilderness plunges readers into fast-paced historical adventure vividly depicting the two heroes journey through hardship and violence as they travel from Texas to Australia. Gordons storytelling is as fearless as the young protagonists. :2010-09-16 00:47:04
Who Says Historical Dramas Are Boring?
Texas 1850s: Diego born Nkawa to a family of Karankawa natives is facing near death. His entire clan ambushed by a merciless mob of Comanche aggressors has been heartlessly exterminated and as the sole remaining survivor he is suddenly face-to-face with the bloodthirsty wrath of his pursuers...
Out of nowhere a group of ranchers led by Mac Campbell happen upon the scene of the slaughter fortuitously dispatching of the Comanche warriors the last one of which is slain by the young upstart Piper Macs son. Diego initially refuses assistance from the ranchers in burying his family and comrades but he soon makes his way to the family ranch in Argyll ultimately being adopted by the Campbells and becoming the honorary half-brother of Piper himself.

pioneer days of an underdeveloped Australia. In a mission to desperately
begin a new life leaving shattered memories behind they are confronted
with more tragedy and heartbreak. Their journey continues through
bloodshed lands as a result of brutality while a strong bond develops
between them sharing loyalty and compassion. The story is a touching
tale of triumph and loyaty. Although the two men suffer from loss of
family and all possessions they never react with bitterness and hatred.

Free to anyone who wants it
I felt I was reading a high school English paper from a kid who couldnt decide what he wanted the story to be. There are enough references to multiple events that it could have been a miniseries...if someone else were to write it. Truly disappointed in the misleading positive feedback on this book. Im leaving it on a park bench for the next poor sucker to suffer through it. :2010-09-16 00:47:04
